Virginia's Story
On sticking with INFERGEN® (Interferon alfacon-1) therapy:
"The thing is, they never gave up on me and that's why I never give up on me."
"I'm going to keep taking the shots, and doing what I'm supposed to do in order to try and get healthy."
On injecting INFERGEN:
"I had never injected myself before, and it was a little scary at first. But to inject myself with INFERGEN, I really picked a certain area that had more fat."
"I had a lot of areas to pick from, but I found one in particular that I could make the injection in that area, and I wouldn't feel it at all. And once that happened, then I was good to go."
On the side effects of INFERGEN:
"The side effects did not outweigh the fact that I want to try to stay healthy throughout my life. So I decided to go with INFERGEN as part of my medication program."
On depression as a side effect of INFERGEN:
"I really couldn't believe that I felt these thoughts, and the healthcare professional had said, 'When you start feeling like that, the next thing to do is to call her, and let her know.' And that's what I did."
On support and resources for people on INFERGEN:
"If you start feeling those thoughts, and you know it's not really natural... pick up and call for help. And that's what I did, and I'm so glad I did."
